CERN’s Large Hadron Collider is a 27-kilometre ring buried 100 metres beneath the Franco-Swiss border, one of the largest scientific instruments ever built, and at the surface, almost entirely invisible. The project proposes an International Art and Science Residency on surface trace of LHC. Four studio-dwellings, each housing one artist and one scientist living and working in pairs, four public pavilions, a central gathering building, and a walking circuit traced around the buried ring.
Together, these elements form an architecture through which knowledge that cannot be directly seen may be slowly perceived.
